Intensive outpatient treatment, What is it?
Intensive outpatient treatment is a type of substance abuse treatment that usually requires patients to: live in some type of structured living such as a sober living, attend daily group therapy sessions and attend weekly one-on-one counseling with a state licensed substance abuse counselor.
Intensive outpatient programs are most effective when used in and overall substance abuse treatment plan. Most patients attend a detox and residential treatment facility before getting into an intensive outpatient program. Studies have consistently shown that success rates are much higher when patients attend an intensive outpatient program like OCRS.
